Amy Guidry Oakes was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana. As a graduate of Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, she pursued her goal of attending business school at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Amy double-majored in Management and Marketing and went on to obtain her Masters of Business Administration all within a four year time span. She maintained her status on the ULL Dean’s List, National Honor Society and was nominated and awarded the elite Outstanding Graduate Award in Management.

Amy has worked with NASA and the major oil-field companies to ensure procurement quality, assisted in the initial development and implementation of LUS Fiber and assisted new and existing businesses start and grow as Director of the grant-funded Women’s Business Center. Most recently, she opened and operated a Family Medicine clinic and medical spa.

With her entrepreneurial spirit and diverse experience and knowledge, she proves to be an asset to any company, small or large, specializing in any industry. Amy’s goal as owner of Southern Business Consulting, LLC is to improve her client’s bottom line without increasing payroll taxes and benefit expenses.
